Your need for speed
So, you have broadband in your house or you have a portable PC with wifi with you and you're surfing merrily in a hotspot. Ever curious how fast you're going?
When I first started surfing wirelessly at Basti's Brew I was curious on how fast the connection was. I looked for bandwidth meters on the internet. I used a couple and eventually settled to using just one: Globequest.
I don't have any real technical reason why I settled with Globequest's bandwidth meter. The only three reasons that I can give is, first, since Globequest is based here in the Philippines, it might give me a better picture on my actual speed. Second, the URL is pretty much easy to memorize. Lastly, I was lazy to look for other DSL bandwidth meters.
Fortunately, I stumbled into a couple of other bandwidth meters in a forum I regularly post at. And these are:
DSL Reports
2Wire
McAfee
Bandwidth Speed Test
So, how fast are you really going?

Formula Pete's Cafe and Ice Cream Station
Formula Pete's is a hotpot that offers free wifi. Using Globequest's bandwidth meter I managed to clock in on average 520 kbps, and that's with one other wifi user.
They offer espresso, doppio, cafe americano, cappucino and a lot more.
Formula Pete's is located at Wheels and More Drive, J.P. Laurel Avenue.
Oh, by the way, their coffee's pretty good, too.
